FC Firmware Flash — The Bluejay + ELRS Combo That Actually Works

Why Bluejay
Bluejay firmware gives you DJI O3 compatibility, reliable motor output timing at low RPM, and a clean BLHeli_32 integration without the weird timing quirks that some firmware versions have. It is the firmware I recommend for any FPV build running DJI digital HD.
The Flash Process
Flash via Betaflight Configurator — no solder required if your FC has a USB-C or micro-USB port. Steps:
- Connect FC to Betaflight Configurator
- Go to Firmware Flasher
- Select "SpeedyBee F405 V4" or your specific board
- Uncheck "Full chip erase" unless you are starting fresh
- Flash the Bluejay hex file
- After reboot, go to CLI and set up your motor output mapping
The ELRS Integration
ELRS on F411 boards with Bluejay requires the correct receiver configuration. CRSF protocol from an ELRS receiver wired to a UART — no soldering needed if your FC has a dedicated ELRS pad. After wiring, flash the ELRS firmware onto the receiver module.
The combination: Bluejay FC + ELRS receiver + DJI O3 VTX = clean digital FPV with low-latency RC control on the same system.
What Can Go Wrong
Wrong firmware hex file for your specific board revision. This is why the pre-tested boards from FPVMotorCo make sense — the FC has already been flashed and verified before it ships. You are not hunting for the right hex file.
