Why I Changed My Whole Shop to Pre-Tested Parts — And You Should Too

What Was Happening
I was buying retail motors for my builds. Every couple of builds, one motor in a set was wrong. Not defective exactly — just slightly off. Spun rough. Ran hot. I flew it anyway because I had already built the quad and I did not want to wait three weeks for a replacement. And then I would crash because the motor was running hot and it did something unexpected at full throttle.
Concrete. $400 quad. Three weeks without flying.
The Realization
The problem was not T-Motor or Emax or any specific brand. The problem was batch variance in the supply chain. Motors sit in warehouses. Temperature cycles. Bearings lose preload. Stator winding insulation degrades. By the time a motor gets to you, it might have been fine at the factory and degraded since.
Big box retailers do not test this. They buy by price and SKU. The test happens when you fly it.
What I Did
I have a factory connection. I started cherry-picking the highest-grade components directly, having them shipped to me in LA, and bench-testing every unit before it went out. The filter between the factory production line and your quad. That is what FPV Motor Co. is.
What Pre-Tested Actually Means
It means: spin-tested at full throttle load. Thermal-cycled and measured. Bearing play checked. Motor output variance verified. If it does not pass, it does not ship. The units that fail go back.
